HALLOWEEN SUPERHERO’S OF 2011

I love my Super Hero’s to pieces.  I’m pretty sure other Grandparents go through this with their kids,  they have to, I can’t be the only one that does this 🙂  I get distracted easily with the television, and in the “Jordan’s baby years” (though 10 now) I’ve told him no matter how old he gets, he will always be our baby “Your dad will always be my baby too”).  watching ELMO and his friends (Elmo was his Hero then) he would stare at the T.V. so attentively. Then he started his obsession with Spiderman and he was his favorite for years.  of course his first heroes are still his dad & Grandpa.

Buddies

Elmo, Spiderman, Dora and so many others,  You get to know them by name because you get more involved in the series than they do. My grandsons asked me which is my favorite and I told them I like most of them, but my favorite is Superman because Superman seems to be the only one that was born with his powers. I relate everything to my love for God and the lessons that he allows us to go through in life.  See, he allows us to have that choice so we can experience on our own encounters in life.   Call me crazy, but its not a bad message in life for the kids to learn and go by.  I see God as a Diety that is up in heaven just listening to prayers, pleas and cries for help, and he is waiting for our repentance so he could save us from distress and  protect us. Superman chose his mission, so did Christ. Jesus died for us, Superman sacrifices himself to save people and when he is weak from a fight he gets more energy from the sun. Plus, he is the man of steel 🙂 Grandparents share a common pride and joy in our little Superhero’s and the wonderful memories we share are a treasure we live for.

Why do I give them such metaphor, simply to make a point, and the best way to it is to use something they like right?  Now little sister Savannah and little brother Christian look up to their big brother Jordan, and they like to dress to impress their Hero. She’s so cute, she does everything to get her brothers attention, even in showing her support. and she repeatedly tells them she loves them.

We have Heroes all around us,  we just don’t see these wonderful acts of humanity much because we come across so many unpleasant people every day of our lives but I tell them although not everyone is as nice as we’d like, just know that there are Heroes and Angels.  They are the friends, family members and the men & woman in all areas of the armed forces.

I’m  thankful to know, be associated with and related to a few soldiers and ex Veterans,  I thank them personally for what they have done and are doing for our country and to have them with us again is a blessing.
